Jason Bourne is Catholic

So, this is interesting… to me at least. The guy from the Bourne trilogy is apparently Catholic. David Webb (a.k.a. “Jason Bourne”) was handed these dog tags which identify him as one of the winning team!

Dog tags

In the UK, dog tags issued to military personnel identify only whether you’re a member of Church of England as far as religion is concerned. Each tag carries the letters CE (Church of England) or OD (other denomination). I guess it’s part of the feud between the state religion and Catholicism; soldiers are expected to swear an oath to the Queen, yet Catholics aren’t supposed to swear an oath to anyone but the Pope.

Matt Damon who plays Bourne is also notable for his role as Loki (the angel of death) in Dogma , leading me to ask the question: Is Matt Damon Catholic? It’d be cool if he was!
